6 tips for a long flight without suffering
Tour and TravelA couple of decades ago, air travel was a luxury and passengers enjoyed a first class service, comfortable and spacious seats and, of course, delicious food.
Unless you travel in first or business, today you look locked in a cabin with minimal space, while trying my best to accommodate you endure a long flight.
If you are about to embark on a long plane ride, following our advice not to suffer…
Dress comfortable
Traveling can seem glamorous, but be comfortable than fashion. Wear clothes you do not tighten, as during a long trip can feel bloated. If you are a woman I would not recommend wearing a skirt or dress, you will not know what position to adopt in order to sleep.
Use layers. It may be that the day is warm, but the aircraft air conditioning is always high; wearing a sweat lodge or blazer for cover as the blanket, if it exists, is very thin.
As for the shoes, you should consider two things: They should be simple to put on and remove, as they may ask you to take them out when going through security and not be adjusted, because if you take them off during the flight, will have to return to place them in your swollen feet.
Choose your seat well
Many airlines let you choose your seat when making your check-in or buy your ticket. I recommend you search online, where you will find a complete map with the best seats for each flight, only enough to indicate airline and number.
If your flight is not very long, less than 5 hours and wants to rest, I recommend going to the bathroom just before boarding, no drink plenty of fluids and choose the window seat. Nobody will bother to go and can sleep.
If you have a long flight, or yes you’ll have to stop you, either to go to the bathroom or stretch your legs. If you want the benefit of leaving your seat without disturbing anyone, and no one wakes you up for, choose a seat of a corridor in the middle column.
Almost all the planes that make transcontinental flights have three types of columns: left, middle, right. The middle one has no window, but benefits. It is true that row seat Emergency has more room for your legs, but not easy to get. It also has as against that their support is not reclining.
Food
On a long trip, most airlines will offer several meals. If you have special dietary requirements, make it known in advance, either by phone or through the website of the company. Those who request special meal, served first, but be warned that unless you ask the children’s menu, is not the best.
In economy class, you get two choices of starter, chicken or beef or any kind of pasta. Never choose the pasta, since overheated usually know nothing well. Something similar applies to the breakfast, never order the omelets, eggs reheated taste awful and there is always a risk of contamination in foods that contain eggs.
When choosing what to drink, it is important to stay hydrated. Instead of choosing beers and soft drinks, the water will be better and will help you recover faster when descending. Coffee at breakfast is recommended, but not expects anything of good quality.
My recommendation is to take something with you; a snack that you like, because you will not know when hungry, may be cereal bars. This is particularly important in media flights, between 3 and 6 hours, when you cannot offer much to eat.
Sleeping
Sleep on the plane is an art; you must overcome the discomfort, noise and light: Before traveling, buy an inflatable neck pillow (they are cheap and simple to keep) a good mask to hide the light and earplugs. Many airlines give you the last two items, along with a light blanket (insufficient, so bring a jacket or sweater) and a small pillow. I recommend using it to the middle of your back, which is unsupported in the aircraft seat.
If you are someone who does not sleep a wink on the flight, talk to your doctor and ask him for a pill to solve the problem. Do not take anything for yourself.
Stand up and walk every few hours, you avoid potential problems and stretch your body, believe me you will need.
If you need to go to the bathroom, do it after eating, but before withdrawing the trays, people often go to mass once removed, so take the time.
Entertainment
Worry about charging your electronic and bring them enough entertainment for the flight; books on your tablet, movies and games, as well for your Smartphone. In most aircraft you’ll find ports to charge your gadgets via USB.
If the plane has individual screens, it is a good idea to watch a movie before bed.

Before landing
When missing bit to get, again people will go masse to the bathroom. As you’re smart, do it when missing hour and a half. You can cool off with wet towels (do not use water from the washing of aircraft).
It is worth to apply yourself some deodorant, comb your hair a bit and if you want to brush your teeth, asks for a glass of still water to the stewardess, remember, and never use water from the sink.
You arrived at your destination, hopefully healthy, safe and, above all, rested and not crazy after spending hours locked in an aircraft as a can of sardines. And you’ll thank me when you return from your trip.
