Don’t try to take on too much at once – Especially if you have a lot to get through it can be overwhelming so start off in 20 minute chunks of time every day – remember you don’t have to do it all at once. Lots of small jobs well done are better than trying to do it all in one go and not being able to.

The Four Box Method – This is a great way to help you sort things out. You just need 4 boxes, labelled ‘keep’ ‘move’ ‘give away’ or ‘rubbish’. This way will make it much easier for you to sort through everything and get you to evaluate each item.

Remember to Recycle – Even if you do not want to keep a particular item, think how it can be recycled. Many items can be recycled – for example old clothes can be taken to a clothing bank or a charity shop, and check what you can recycle at printwaste.co.uk/business-recycling-solutions/polystyrene-recycling/  to find answers to questions such as is Styrofoam recyclable?

Take photos – Taking before and after photos of what you have done is a great motivator to show you how well you are progressing – we all love to see the transformations of rooms going from crowded and cluttered to clean and spacious.
