Due to the current economy, many people are forgoing holidays abroad in favour of holidaying in the UK. After all, holidays in the UK are much cheaper, and they can still be a lot of fun – but should you buy a campervan for your holidays, or is it easier to camp or stay in hotels?
Here are four things that you should consider if you are thinking about buying a camper van.
You Can Go on Varied Holidays
One of the best things about buying a campervan is that you can go on a wide range of holidays. You and your partner can get away for a romantic weekend, or during the summer holidays you can bring the kids too and take a week-long vacation. You can go anywhere you want; maybe you like the idea of heading to a UK forest for a peaceful weekend, or maybe you want to take the kids to the coast for a sun-soaked holiday.
Perhaps this is why the number of motorhomes, campervans and caravans on Britains roads is set to soar over the next few years; they provide people with endless holidays, instead of just one.

Think About Insurance
Many people decide to buy a campervan without thinking about insurance, but if you have made a claim on your car in the last few years, you may find that your insurance cost goes up. This can make a campervan much more expensive than the initial cost, so you may want to ring up your insurance company before you purchase a campervan, as this means that you wont be surprised with any extra costs.
A Campervan Isnt Always Cheap
Second-hand campervans are fairly cheap, but new campervans tend to be more expensive. If you want you can save money by converting a van yourself, but this can take a long time. If you dont have DIY skills, it may be easier to just buy a van.
Consider Renting a Campervan
If you like the idea of going on a campervan holiday but you dont know if you want to commit to the van, consider hiring a campervan for a holiday. You can still have the experience without paying the full cost.
