Four Great Outdoor Games for Your Next Summer Party

There is nothing in the world quite like enjoying a warm summer day with family and friends. Once you have the food on the grill and drinks in the ice chest, it is time to start thinking about some games and activities that will keep your guests entertained.

Bocce

Bocce has been around in one form or another for over 6,000 years. This game requires nothing more than a few sets of matching balls and a marker to aim at. If you have a smaller yard that isnt conducive to more strenuous activities, then a bocce ball set could be a great investment.

Spikeball

This game has exploded in popularity over the last few years, and competitive leagues are now being started all over the country. Spikeball is similar to volleyball, but the net is replaced with a small trampoline on the ground. You might want to try out spikeball if you have family and friends who love vigorous games that require an exceptional amount of agility and dexterity.

Ladder Toss

Also known as ladder golf, ladder toss is a game of accuracy and technique. The goal of this game is to wrap your rope and balls (bolas) around the vertical steps of a small ladder. This game can be played with up to four players or you can have single players compete with one another in a tiered tournament.

Cornhole

Cornhole is another outdoor game that is perfect for smaller yards. Regulation cornhole courts must be at least 40 long, but you can play on a smaller field if both teams agree. One of the most exciting aspects of cornhole is customizing your boards and bags. There are cornhole wraps for practically every college team, professional athlete, fictional character, and movie imaginable. The basic rules can easily be learned in a few hours, but this game takes years to master.

In addition to these four outdoor activities, you should also have some indoor alternatives. A summer storm can blow through in the blink of an eye, and you want to have something for your guests to do if the party needs to be brought indoors.
