It has not yet has been released and is already making waves. Apparently, as I overtook in the article that we took yesterday to criticism not just convince the entire film that David Ayer wrote and directed with such enthusiasm based on the group of supervillains created by John Ostrander.
Although it may be compared with ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ actually has little to do with it, because the DC universe built by Ayer is very different to that created by Zack Snyder (although it is true that are linked and that could, somehow, you be linked to the ‘Justice League’.
Reinventing the genre
What David Ayer aims, and largely successful, it is to go free, away from the usual schemes of the kind he describes as “focused on defeating an evil alien robot fucking planet X, before it destroys the world a certain time. Who the hell cares ? Instead, if you build a story of struggle and loneliness with people whom life has dealt fatal and that, suddenly, someone throws a lifeline … So it is not so bad”. The result is a fun, light and agile rhythm tape.
And so, as described yesterday’s how I see the proposal of ‘suicide squad’. The first thing to be clear is that this is not the typical movie supervillain, and that rather than carry out an elaborate script with complex plots, is above all a film that focuses on certain characters. And every member forming part of the suicide squad has its own history, their own desires, hopes and even fears. They have, in short, a soul in which we may have to go a little more to understand its true nature.
‘Suicide Squad’: Supervillains or Superheros
In the movie, the secret government agency ARGUS, led by the Machiavellian Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) decided to create a secret group bringing together a group of very dangerous supervillains and nothing to lose. Supervised by the military Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and his bodyguard, the martial arts expert Katana (Karen Fukuhara), join the group Dead Shot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) Boomerang (Jai Courtney), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) and Slipknot (Adam Beach).
Their mission? Find out the intentions of a powerful and dangerous being who has taken over the body of the Exploratory June Moon (Cara Delevingne). Along the way they encounter the haunting Joker (Jared Leto), who first turned to Quinn in making it. The truth is that after the interpretation Head Ledger took place in ‘The Dark Knight’, not expecting anyone could reach their level, and that does not change my mind. Let gets a pretty decent performance, but clearly lower than that provided by Ledger.

The film also has its weaknesses, because even though I said it has a fairly brisk pace, there are moments when it declines slightly, but recovers quickly. This is also not very serious compared to what forced it seems the introduction of the Joker character in the plot or the superficiality with which it is treated the character of Batman (has only three brief appearances). The inclusion of both characters is more anecdotal than necessary. Let has little time to show off.
If something urgent should be noted is the spectacular work done Margot Robbie, thanks to her film becomes what it is. Because nails the role at all times, giving the film that fresh touch, consisting of a mixture between dangerous folly and cynical sweetness that characterizes her character. She (along with Shot Dead Will Smith) is the true protagonist of this story, which gives the sense and grace, and make watching the tape becomes a delight.
Her character is well worked, although it is still more that of Smith, who also holds a very decent job. Yesterday her villain decides to grant most of the dramatic weight, since it is she more deepens the emotional level. As a last character to stand out, I have to say that the Devil is not bad tempered. The rest, as is inevitable in a film formed by so many characters, stays in the background, simply.
Finally, I will highlight another positive aspect of the film. This is the soundtrack composed by geniuses spectacular songs like Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Eminem and Queen, among others. The music, which says a lot about the sarcastic tone of the story (although it is not without a heart), together with a full of pictures great visual effects, a good pace in general and superb performances make this film a perfect choice to spend a couple of hours very entertaining this summer.
