The construction industry is ever changing and this is sometimes due to new technologies that are created and better ways of working, or it can be as a result of new legislation or requirements that are aimed to keep construction workers safe on site.   • Steel – a metal alloy that is made from iron and carbon. It is used in a variety of different ways in construction but is popular in the framework of buildings. This is due to its strength and its ease of installation. Although it can be more expensive than some alternatives.

  • Brick – theses are laid together to make walls and paving and are joined together using a mortar mix. Blocks acn be made from clay as well as from concrete and they can be manufactured in a number of different sizes, depending on what they are needed for.
